Dungeons & Dragons - The Return

In my early teens I was given the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Rules Set 1, the books and dice long lost. A small group at school attempted to play, but either being too young or falling out over rules (rules more likely) D&D was abandoned. D&D didn't make that much of an impression (even with the cartoon on tv) though if memory serves me right one of the players changed his signature to match that of the artist Larry Elmore (who illustrated the Basic Rules Set).

In my later teens or early twenties, I was invited to join a group playing Advanced D&D. The company was good, the game enjoyable but truth be told I kept going back for my weekly nicotine fix from the second-hand smoke.

But as ever life gets in the way, well working in a restaurant kitchen did. So, AD&D books, dice and lead figures got lost as I moved from each catering job.

Until now.

With trepidation I sent an email to Ned indicating that if there was space in the group I'd be interested. An enthusiastic response with guidance on creating a character, details of the virtual meeting area and a couple of games later my fighter (close to death) appears to have been cursed with Lycanthropy, or has he...
